I thought I’d blog about my new phone from my new phone. This phone is amazing! It can do everything, best purchase I ever made. Blogging will become a lot easier now I can do it from this phone. You can expect a lot more regular blogs. Aren’t you lucky?
A couple of weeks ago I attended my young leaders training weekend. But, as usual, late blogging! The weekend aimed to prepare young leaders for working with their sections by covering 9 modules on things such as special needs and games. It was a really worthwhile weekend where I met lots of new friends and learned lots of useful skills.
Just thought I’d post a link to my new blog for all things twitter related, like my follow fridays:
As you may have noticed, september was a very quiet month in my world of geocaching. 0 finds, 0 hides. This isn’t because I’ve been lazy and sat tweeting instead of going out! It’s because of the huge increase I’ve had in school work and scout events etc. I’m hoping to get out and do a few this month as it’s a part of me missing!
Also, 7th October was 1 year since my first find! What a good year it’s been
Another late blog, I need to find time to do this more often!
I went to Germany a couple of weeks ago on an exchange with school, it is the best trip I have ever been on
On the sunday we spent the whole day travelling. Not the most exciting of things but I enjuoyed it. On Sunday night I met the family I was staying with for the first time, they were really lovely. We had a delicious dinner and even some kitkats, it was as if they knew me!
On the monday we went into the school for the morning for a selection of activties, one of which was geocaching, but sadly I didn’t do that one
I made water rockets before having a session of untimate frisbee. It was super. In the afternoon we had a game of mini-golf in the park and a a go on a pedalo. Which was great, before another loevly dinner
Tuesday was our day to relax, we had no Germans, just english pupils having fun. We went to a castle where I went last year, but this year was better. We then popped into the town and had a quick look round before going to the amazing Kettlerhof in the Afternoon! Kettlerhof is an outdoor activity centre with boats, slides and bouncy castle type things, it’s amazing fun! On Tuesday evening we went bowling with our partners, with a lovely german dinner of burger and chips.
Wednesday was our day in German lessons, the teacher of my first two lessons was ill, so they were cancelled and we stayed in bed and extra 2 hours! But when we did finally arrive I had to endure german lessons in Maths, German, English (where I learnt something!) and Religion. It was a difficult but good day. That evening we went to the Planetarium which was suprisingly good, it was to music and was really relaxing
Thursday: Cologne, my favourite day of the week for my own special reasons. Basically we had a quick look at the cathedral, a small boat trip up the Rhine and a look around the town. I really liked Cologne
On Thursday evening we went to the school for a farewell party, it was great, there was food and music and it was just brilliant!
Then the day came I hadn’t been looking forward to, the day we had to come home. I’d had a really fantastic time and would love to go again, but sadly it’s the last time I’ll be going with school as I’m now too old
It was a week filled with fun, education and of course food
Sorry for the late blogging, I actually did it on 19th September!
As part of my 3 star kayaking I’m required to do 3 journeys, so far I had only done 1 so was thinking of doing the planned saturdfay journey. Then I started doubting whether I should as I had to get up early on the sunday to go to Germany. Then on the saturday morning I dedided I was going to
The journey itself was really rather easy, the only difficulty was dodging ships and staying in formation. On the way to the Island we had a large container ship pass us, causing a giant 3m wave!
We arrived on the Island which is the first time I’d been there for 8 years! Before coming home half an hour later. The way back was slack and unexciting.
Overall it was the best kayaking trip I’ve ever done, I really enjoyed it! Can’t wait until the next one
School. What an interesting place?
I’ve just started my GCSEs all 11 of them (English, English Literature, Maths, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, ICT, Geography, French, German and Statistics) which has left me with lots and lots of work. Sadly, sue to the increase in my work Geocaching has had to be demoted and now rarely engaged in. However, I’m sure I’ll find some time to grab a few. But Coursework is more Important
I have never been to a geocaching event since I started last September. Then one day I decided I would.
I attended the Hampshire Monthly midweek number 8 in Titchfield, and I was pleasantly surprised. It was amazing! I really enjoyed meeting everyone who’s names you see written so often.
Back in April I decided to publish my own event: Crofton Cachers Club #1. this also turned out to be very successful. 13 people turned up, the weather was nice and we had Fish and Chips, spectacular. I am now planning number 2 for January.
Finally, my next event, 9th September, my birthday. I’m being dragged up to Wherwell for another monthly midweek, but there great so I have no problem with that
Caching is like blogging, I don’t so it very often but when I do, I do it in mass. The summer holidays have started which means I have to try and get my 200 caches by the end of July. It will still be difficult as it means another 24 finds.
I have plans to complete a cache series of 18 this week which would still leave another 6 finds. Which are problematic. I don’t know when I’m going to get them, or where. Today I did another two quick ones in Ashurst and Bursledon. There was another multi planned but the path was flooded.
Wish me luck…
